The Mahindra XUV700 has completely reversed the time-sliding clock of the brand allowing them to leap into the game of the high-end D Segment SUVs with, in fact, epic success. It was introduced far in advance of its era, and in so doing it raised the bar to such a level that it forced its rivals to call a time-out and reexamine their entire strategy.
Now Mahindra is in the process of giving the XUV700 its first full-fledged facelift since its release and the latest spy shots are already dripping some seriously cool newness that we shall be hyped about in the new model.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spotted Up Close

It is also expected to reach the market in 2026, although no official launch date has been fixed so far. We already have a few spotting shots of the new XUV700, and the most recent spy images provide us with a better view of the details of the design. The entire test mule is covered, yet it is apparent that this is the ICE edition of the facelifted XUV700, not the forthcoming EV, which has its front covering revealed.
On the exterior, the new LED headlights are noticeable and likely to be projector-based, which is a significant addition to the old reflectors. New C-shaped LED DRLs have appeared in previous spy shots and resemble a slicked-up version of the existing design. The front features also begin with parking sensors, but the side profile remains largely unchanged, with the exception of a new alloy wheel design. The signature flush pop-out door handles and body cladding retain their position.
The rear taillights are still covered with camo, yet in previous shots, they used to look like they do now. There are also a couple of modifications at the rear, such as a shark-fin antenna, a revised bumper at the rear, a new rear washer, and a spoiler.
Interior Overhaul with Premium Touches
Inside, the facelifted XUV700 will feature a cutting-edge triple-screen dashboard layout, a design seen in the XEV 9e and upcoming XEV 7e, Mahindra’s electric version of the XUV700. This new setup, which no competitor currently offers, will elevate the premium feel of the vehicle. Another significant upgrade is the transition from Sony speakers to Harman Kardon speakers, with a total of 16 speakers providing a peak output of 1400W.

The steering wheel appears to be shared with the XEV 9e, while the XUV700 facelift will also be equipped with an auto-dimming IRVM, a highly requested feature. A Level-2+ ADAS system is expected to be included, with features such as self-parking capability, which would bring even more convenience and safety to the SUV.
Engine and Powertrain Options
Under the hood, Mahindra is likely to retain the existing engine options, which include the 2.0L Turbo Petrol and 2.2L Turbo Diesel engines. These will continue to be paired with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The facelifted XUV700 may also offer an optional AWD system, along with a choice of a 2-row or 3-row seating layout, catering to a wide range of customer preferences.
Competing in a Competitive Segment
The XUV700 facelift will continue to compete in the crowded D-segment SUV market, with rivals such as the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and MG Hector and Hector Plus. Given the updates, it’s clear that Mahindra is determined to maintain its leadership in this segment with cutting-edge technology, premium features, and dynamic performance.
Stay tuned for more details as the XUV700 facelift nears its official launch!
