The Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup truck is set to redefine the pickup segment with its rugged build and premium features
Once again, Mahindra is set to storm the SUV and pickup market with the release of four new vehicles in the near future. One of the best manufacturers of durable, feature-rich, all-terrain SUVs capable of overcoming practically any type of challenge, Mahindra is a brand name that has penetrated the awareness of off-roaders and urban commuters alike. Before the big reveal at the Freedom_NU event later in the Independence Day (August 15), the brand has been offering us sneak peaks of what we can expect next in their lineup. But the exciting part is- there were spy shots of a new Mahindra Scorpio N based- Pickup and everybody is talking about it.
What’s in the Spy Shots?
The spies caught a heavily-camouflaged Scorpio N Pik Up, and no details on the front design of the model are readily available. Although there may be a cover to its real appearance, something is certain: Mahindra is brewing something with real heft, power and a style deal to the pickup segment. The pickup that was seen was a single-cab model, though we are anticipating that Mahindra will launch a double-cab model too. The truck has a long truck bd, built with utility in mind, and the rear-mounted halogen taillamps imply that Mahindra is not pretentious as some rivals, although the emphasis is on functionality in the modern world.
Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup truck : A More Rugged Alternative?
Based on the Scorpio N SUV, the Pik Up truck is expected to feature a few of the similarities of design language and some of its features. We expect the interior to resemble the high-techness-refined luxury features of its SUV counterpart, and some practical adjustments made on the truck model. Premium features should include powered driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate, and 7-8 inch all-touchscreen entertainment. All these are features that will help the Scorpio N Pik Up have an edge over the competitive segment, particularly the Isuzu D-Max and the Toyota Hilux.
Powertrain: Diesel-First, Petrol Later?
The Scorpio N SUV comes with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that churns out 172 bhp and 370 Nm of torque, and it offers an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option. It’s likely that the Scorpio N Pik Up will be powered by the same diesel engine, although in a different state of tune to suit the pickup’s utilitarian nature. A petrol variant may be introduced later on, but for now, the focus will be on the reliable and powerful diesel powertrain.
Price Expectations
The Scorpio N Pik Up will also perhaps be good value when compared to other Mahindra products. It will be priced around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) with its ample features on the inside, tough body, and powerful engine. This places it in a attractive niche, against the established competition such as the Isuzu D-Max and the Toyota Hilux, yet more features and flexibility.
What’s Next?
The Scorpio N Pik Up that is set to be unveiled later is merely one of the four vehicles that Mahindra has been teasing ahead of the Freedom_NU event on 15th August. Now that the Scorpio N Pik Up is stealing the limelight, one thing is evident: Mahindra is testing the limits of an SUV and a pickup truck design. Be it an off-roademaniac, the family that seeks a vacation or an individual who requires a sturdy and dependable utility tool, Scorpio N Pik Up does not disappoint.
Stay tuned as the official reveal will soon take place, and you will feel a new energy and a new dimension of driving thanks to the latest innovation by Mahindra.
