I also proudly had the privilege of meeting His Majesty King Charles III in recent time which was not only an affirmation of the thaw in Indo UK ties but also an informative discussion on various aspects of cooperation and engagement between the two countries.
Discussing with His Majesty King Charles III: the Future of India–UK Trade and Vision 2035
Our discussion started with the talk about trade and investment particularly through CETA (Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) and vision 2035 both of which are aimed at defining and enhancing the economic relationship between India and United Kingdom. His Majesty said that he was hopeful of the achievements being made by the two nations, especially in areas that are defining the global economy today, which include, digital innovation, clean energy and manufacturing.
Education, Health, and the Timeless Wisdom of Yoga & Ayurveda
Education and health played also an important role in our dialogue. We discussed the idea of an improvement in the academic relationships and exchanges of the students, as well as developing greater bridges between the institutions in both countries.
One of the most touching of all is the fact when His Majesty expressed his personal interest in the Yoga and Ayurveda. These ancient systems have been receiving increasing popularity amongst the world today, with the interest of the wellbeing in holistic health that the Ruling Majesty has shown and advocated since time immemorial represent the High regard upon the holistic health and wellbeing. It was motivating to know the processes through which such practices are being adopted globally and we talked in bits about how it can be strongly incorporated into wellness programs being pursued in the modern world.
Shared Responsibility: Sustainability and Environmental Protection
Environment conservation and sustainability was the other important issue in our discussion. King Charles is a global advocate of environmental concerns and his interest in climate changes and eco-friendly lifestyle resonate greatly with the values and the vision of India. With our mutual interest in having a greener planet, there was a positive and healthy conversation on renewable energyWhere the eco-friendly infrastructure lays a path in building climate resilient development.
Building a Stronger Bond Through Shared Values
The alignment of values, namely; sustainability, wellness, innovation, and education is the key reason why this meeting was so special and both of these nations, India and the UK, attach high importance to them. With times ahead of us to add on the historic association that exists between our countries, the kind of dialogue we have now will set a platform to fruitful partnerships in the future.
I was defeated and joyful, departing the meeting with hope towards our relationship. Once the tradition and innovation have met and the ancient wisdom is accepted with open hands, the outcome is the same journey to a more sustainable and brighter world.
