A terrible tragedy took place in the Panchkula’s Sector 27 on May 27 Seven members of the Dehradun family were discovered dead in a locked vehicle. This shocking find was made in the morning after locals were observing a sluggish vehicle, called the police. Following an investigation, police discovered the dead bodies of the entire family, including grandparents who were elderly and young children.

Initial investigations by the police suggest that the family could have consumed poison in a tragic way or alcohol, possibly as part of an attempt to commit suicide in mass. A note in handwriting was discovered in the vehicle, believed to be left by one of them, however the contents of the note have not yet been disclosed. While financial troubles are thought to be the cause but the police have not yet established a motive for the incident.
Panchkula DCP and Forensic Experts on the Scene
Panchkula The Deputy Chief of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik, and DCP Amit Dahiya, quickly attended to the incident, with investigators from the forensic team. “The car was locked from the inside, and there were no signs of forced entry or struggle,” DCP Kaushik said. “Although suicide seems likely, we are examining all possible scenarios, including foul play.”
Post-Mortem and Forensic Examination Underway
The remains of the seven family members have been taken into Sector 6 Civil Hospital for an extensive post-mortem examination. This will allow us to determine the reason for the death.
